2026 Hong Kong Music Festival International Youth Musicians Competition taking full advantage of Hong Kong’s unique position as an international hub where Chinese and Western musical cultures converge, the Competition is committed to advancing the development of music arts across Asia and the world.

The Competition features a diverse range of instrument categories, including piano, strings, winds, percussion and Chinese instruments, embracing both Western classical and Eastern heritage. The Competition provides a professional platform where music lovers of all instrumental specialties can perform on an equal footing and engage in meaningful artistic exchanges. It encourages young musicians to confidently demonstrate their performance skills, unleash their musical potential.

作品要求 Requirements

1. 比賽曲目：自選參賽曲目。可自選背景音樂或樂器伴奏。

Competition Piece: Self-selected piece for the competition, background music or instrumental accompaniment is optional.

2. 演奏形式個人或團體均可。

Individual or group performance both acceptable.

3. 作品時長：4 分鐘內。

Performance Duration: Within 4 minutes.

4.參賽片段必須清楚錄影到參賽者樣貌及演奏動作，如評審委員未能確認表演是否參賽者親身表演，主辦單位有權要求參賽者重新遞交片段或取消其參賽資格。如同一組別同一項目投稿超過一份，本會只考慮投稿時間最早之作品。歡迎參賽者使用在其他比賽的影片及作品。

The competition clip must clearly record the participant’s appearance and performance movements. If judges cannot confirm the performance is conducted by the participant, the organizer may request resubmission or cancel the participation qualification. If multiple entries are submitted in the same category and division, only the earliest submission will be considered. Participants are welcome to use videos and works from other competitions.

5.可使用任何錄影器材，格式為 MOV、MP4、AVI 或 WMV；解像度為 720p (1280×720) 或以上；錄影地點室內外均可；拍攝影片時，儘量保持攝影裝置固定，避免震動搖晃或移動；參賽者之服飾、頭飾、化妝等不作評分專案，惟須端正整潔。影片必須為一鏡到底的拍攝原片，影片必須為現場收音，不接受後期配音處理；
Any recording equipment is allowed, with formats: MOV, MP4, AVI, or WMV; resolution: 720p (1280×720) or higher; shooting location: indoor or outdoor. Keep the camera fixed to avoid shaking. Clothing, headwear, and makeup are not scoring items but must be neat. The video must be a single-take original with live sound (no post-dubbing).

6.參賽作品不能含有淫褻、暴力、色情、誹謗、不良意識、侮辱或任何具爭議性及不恰當之內容。主辦機構有權拒絕不恰當、與比賽主題無關或格式錯誤的參賽作品。主辦單位保留對比賽總規和章程的最終解釋權。若有任何有關本活動的爭議發生主辦單位的裁定為最終的裁決，任何人士均不得異議。參賽作品不能含有宣傳商業或政治元素。

Entries must not contain pornographic, violent, erotic, defamatory, inappropriate, insulting, or controversial content. The organizer may reject works that are inappropriate, irrelevant, or incorrectly formatted. The organizer reserves the right to final interpretation of rules. All disputes are subject to the organizer’s final decision. Works must not include commercial or political promotion.

評分準則 Judging Criteria

技術精度：技巧的掌握程度，在音準、節奏和基礎技巧方面的精確性。

曲目選材：樂曲的難度與表演者能力的匹配度，能否展現技術和音樂理解。

音樂表達：情感傳遞，在動態、強弱對比和音色方面的表現。

整體表現：整體呈現，包括舞臺魅力、自信度、以及表演的流暢性和專業性。

評審將根據參賽者的表現作出綜合評分，比賽成績將根據各評審的總分平均計算，評審團成員包括本協會顧問、各辦學團體代表，以及業界資深人士。評審對一切事宜保有最終決定權，其評分為最終決定，參賽者必須尊重及接受。

Technical Accuracy: Mastery of techniques, precision in pitch, rhythm, and basic skills.

Musical Expression: Emotional conveyance, performance in dynamics, contrast, and tone color.

Piece Selection: Matching degree between piece difficulty and performer’s ability, and demonstration of technical/musical understanding.

Overall Performance: Overall presentation, including stage charisma, confidence, and fluency/professionalism of the performance.

Judges will evaluate participants based on their overall performance. Final scores will be calculated by averaging the total marks given by all panel members. The jury consists of association advisors, representatives from educational institutions and senior industry professionals. The jury reserves the right of final decision on all matters related to the competition. All scores are final and binding, and participants shall fully respect and accept the results.

針對參賽學生超過10名以上之學校或機構，按照參賽者整體水平設立 (根據團體參賽者填報的信息進行統計)。

Schools or institutions with more than 10 participating students are eligible for the quota, which will be determined based on the overall level of the participants (based on the data submitted by group participants).
